Vishwaroop, David first weekend collection at Box Office

Vishwaroop, David 1st weekend collection at Box OfficeThis weekend has once again proved that bulk release will always result in poor collection. This is the fate of new Hindi releases like Vishwaroop, David, Deewana Main Deewana, Mai, Midnight's Children, Listen Amaya and Unsound. Out of the six releases, Vishwaroop and David have had slightly better collection at the Indian Box Office than the others. But they have landed in the second and third spots respectively, while Race 2 topped the business chart. Of the new releases, Vishwaroop is leading the race at the domestic Box Office. The Kamal Hassan starrer opened to an average response on the first day and it showed good improvement in its collection on Saturday and Sunday. The movie has collected Rs 7.56 crores nett at the desi collection centres in the second weekend. Its breakup is Rs 1.89 cr on Fri, Rs 2.47 cr on Sat and Rs 3.2 cr on Sun. Another much-hyped movie David starring Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Vinay Virmani in leads, opened to below average response on the first day and it showed little growth in its business on Saturday and Sunday. It has collected Rs 2.41 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 69 lakhs on Fri, Rs 83 lakhs on Sat and Rs 89 cr on Sun. However, other new releases Deewana Main Deewana, Mai, Midnight's Children, Listen Amaya and Unsound registered very low amount of occupancy on the first day and they did not show improvement on Saturday and Sunday. They have collected negligible amount at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend.

Saif Ali Khan confirms plans for Race 3!

Saif Ali Khan
Race 2 starring Saif Ali Khan andJohn Abraham in the main lead, has opened with a bang and is setting the B.O collections on fire. Within a few days of it’s release the movie has already crossed 50 crore and looks like it’s still going to go a long way. Now, since the movie is doing so well, the makers of the film have decided remove a third installment of the film.
A source said: “It makes sense as well. Ending of Race 2 has been left open ended. Since John’s character hasn’t been done away with entirely, unlike Akshaye Khanna who was bumped off in Race, it is clear that he would be back for revenge. However, it has to be seen whether he returns in Race 3 or Race 4.”
Though the story of the first two parts wasn’t similar at all, the makers of the film are not revealing anything about the plot they have in mind for the next part.
Ramesh Taurani, producer of the film said: “I want a 10-day holiday now. It has been a two year long journey to put together RACE 2. But yes, RACE 3 is definitely on. With the sequel doing so well at the box office, it deserves more installments. We have these as a part of our immediate plans.”
Saif Ali Khan too doesn’t mind starring in the next part as it’s adding to his list of hit films and also he’s making big bucks.
Saif said: “We are pretty much confirmed to go ahead with Race 3. I think if the film continues to run so very well, there is no reason why we shouldn’t extend the story any further. The script will have to be much stronger though.”

Shahrukh Khan & Katrina Kaif will spend Valentines Day in Muscat

Katrina Kaif and Shahrukh Khan
This Valentines Day, Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif will be performing together for the first time in a musical show. This would be their first live show in a concert abroad.
Confirming the news, a source close to Katrina said that the two will be performing in Muscat.
“Yes, she will be performing with Shah Rukh Khan in Oman on February 13. The show will also have performances by actressPreity Zinta and Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar,” revealed the source.
The show is scheduled on Valentines Day eve. Srk and Kats will get groovy to the songs of their super hit flick Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
SRK and Katrina have made it to the list of one of the most good looking couples on screen. They have become the talk of the town ever since Jab Tak Hai Jaan happened. Also, the couple have come under the scanner because of SRK’s fiery relationship with Kat’s “ex-lover” Salman Khan.
Now, we are all aware that the once upon a time good friends Shahrukh and Salman are now the worst Bollywood enemies, who don’t see eye-to-eye anymore.
Reports also suggest that Salman Khan’s decision to pair up with Priyanka Chopra, SRK’s very special friend for the Dubai show, was a way to get back at Shahrukh for wooing Salman’s ex-lover Katrina, on-screen in the Yash Chopra romantic film.
Anyway, we just can’t wait to see SRK-Katrina performance.

Salman Khan is very busy this year

Salman Khan
Salman Khan and his ‘Wanted’ director Prabhu Deva are all set to team up once again. The film is said to go on floors by the end of this year.
Salman Khan is considered as one of the busiest actors in Bollywood. The actor has somehow managed to keep aside some time for Prabhu Deva for his next untitled film.
Confirming the news, the film’s producer, Ramesh Taurani said,“Salman will be doing a film with us. The film will go on floors by the end of this year. It will be directed by Prabhu Deva. We have got his dates, so we will start rolling accordingly.”
So is the project a remake of a south film or any past movie, Tauruni said: “I can’t talk much about the film right now. It can or it may not be a remake. We are contemplating the subject right now. Once the subject is finalised, we will look for the leading actress for our film.”
If reports are to be believed, Anees Bazmee’s No Entry Mein Entry, and Sooraj Barjatya’s next untitled film, both of which stars Salman Khan, has been postponed to 2014.
So, Salman’s 2013 calendar reads: Sohail Khan’s ‘Mental’, Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ and Prabhudheva’s next untitled.

Salman Khan all set for his next, ‘Mental’

Salman Khan
Salman Khan’s next film has been titled ‘Mental’ and will go on floors anytime soon.
A source tells a daily, “Salman is all set to put his full concentration on Sohail Khan’s Mental and before getting started with it, he wanted to finalise his itinerary for 2013.”
Like we reported earlier, Salman Khan is a very busy man this 2013. After getting done with his brother Sohail Khan’s ‘Mental’, Salman will shift focus on Sajid Nadiadwala’s much-awaited film ‘Kick’, which might see Deepika Padukoneplaying the female lead. If all goes as planned, Sajid’s ‘Kick’ will roll out by August.
Also, we had reported yeaterday that besides ‘Mental’ and ‘Kick’, Salman Khan will also begin shooting for Prabhu Deva’s mass entertainer, which will go on floors by the year end.
Producer of Prabhu Deva’s untitled film, Ramesh Taurani confirmed the news. He was on top of the world when Salman Khan made available himself in October to start the film.
Currently, director Prabhu Deva is also very busy with Ramaiya Vastavaiya, which is set to hit theaters this June. Next in line is Ajay Devgn starer and finally, it will be Salman Khan’s film.
This will be Salman’s second film with Prabhu Deva, after 2009 ‘Wanted’.

Sanjay Dutt in the news again

Bollywood Sanjay Dutt

Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt is in the news again. This time it’s about his down to earth nature. Rumour has it that our Sanju baba is staying at a two star hotel near a small village named Mandwa, a few hours off Jaipur for his next film,P.K. Apparently the team couldn’t come up with a better hotel as the location is in a small town. He and Aamir Khan are staying at the hotel and are not complaining about the location.
The place, having limited amenities, does not dampen the spirits of either superstar. The entire unit reports for work at 8 am and Sanjay Dutt also does the same. He wakes up early in the morning and after his usual work out session is on his way to complete his schedule everyday. Picked by Raju Hirani, the location is said to be very beautiful.
While he is busy with the shooting, another Sanju rumour is doing the rounds. The buzz is that while Sanjay Dutt was in Chennai shooting for PoliceGirl he was invited by none other than the legendary superstar RajniKanth and they discussed about working together. And if all goes well, we will see them sharing the screen together after a really long time. Do any of you remember Khoon ka Karz? Where Sanjay and Rajni shared the screen with Vinod Khanna,  Dimple Kapadia, Kimi Katkar, Sangeeta Bijlani and Kader Khan.

Salman calls SRK an 'over-actor'

Image
Even though he might address superstar Shah Rukh Khan as his younger brother and refrain from using harsh words in public, it seems that Salman Khan has still not forgiven his bête noir.
According to media reports, Salman hit out at his director of an ad shoot, suggesting him to rope in Shah Rukh if he wanted the lead actor to ‘over-act’. The reports have created a stir in the tinsel town, thereby threatening to spoil the efforts of some common friends trying to bring out a truce between the two.
While shooting an advertisement with TV actress Aamna Sharif, the 47-year-old actor got miffed when the director asked him to walk up to her.

“Agar walk karana hai toh kisi model to bula lete (You should have asked a model instead to shoot, if you wanted the actor to walk),” he was reported to have said.

When the director asked him to shoot the sequence again, ‘Dabangg’ Salman retorted saying,” Agar acting hi karani hai toh Hrithik ko le lete aur agar over acting karani hai toh Shah Rukh ko le lete ( To make someone act call Hrithik and rope in Shah Rukh if you want over-acting). Following this, he stormed out of the sets.

As per the sequence of events, it is clear that our Chulbul Pandey is not a ‘bulbul’ at heart when it comes to ‘King Khan’ till now. Especially when the news circles were abuzz with tales about the two superstars ending the animosity through a hug during the premiere of recently released ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
Salman and Shah Rukh had a verbal showdown during actress Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in July 2008. Since then, the two actors have left no stone unturned to avoid facing each other in public. The feud has indeed spilt the tinsel town into two factions, with each camp being looked with extreme anticipation by everyone.

While  Hrithik would be all smiles for him being rated highly for his acting, it seems that King Khan will have to brush up his acting skills a little bit more. We wish SRK good luck in his future endeavours.

Vivek Oberoi welcomes baby boy

Image

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and his wife Priyanka have become proud parents of a baby boy.

This is Vivek's first child and the new father took to Twitter to share his joy last night: "Today is the most special day of my life! Priyanka and I welcomed our little angel into our world, a beautiful, healthy, divine baby boy!"

"I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, duas, blessings, prayers and aashirwaad you have sent us! Our son is truly blessed," he added.

The 36-year-old actor married Priyanka in October 2010 and the pregnancy news broke in August 2012.

Actress Genelia D'souza was quick to congratulate the couple.

"Congratulations @vivek_oberoi and priyanka, I'm sure its the most special day ever, can't wait to see the li'l one..Big hugg (sic)," she tweeted.

Vivek will next be seen in 'Zilla Ghaziabad' and 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story'.

I get more offers for direction: Prabhu Deva

Image
Choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva, who will next be seen acting in 'ABCD - Any Body Can Dance', says he receives more offers for direction but loves choreography the most.

"I get more offers for direction than acting. I don't receive offers for acting... everyone takes me as a director... which I think is good. It is not that I am not keen on acting. If I am comfortable and I like it then I take up acting. It is not that I won't be acting," Prabhu told PTI.

"I did choreography, direction and acting. Everything is a part of my job. But I love doing choreography more than anything," he said.

Prabhu is not actively seen acting in Hindi films, but has made cameo appearances, especially in songs. He was last seen in a special appearance song in Akshay Kumar's 'Oh My God' and 'Rowdy Rathore' last year.

As far as acting in films is concerned, Prabhu believes he should feel comfortable enough to act.

"I think I should feel comfortable to do the role, the film. And then I should have time as I have choreography and direction work as well," he said.

Prabhu, who has been wooing the audience with his fine and flexible dance skills, says, "My first passion is choreography. Presently I am busy with direction, if I am free and if someone needs me I will do it (choreography)," he said.

Considering that he would be acting in Remo D'Souza's upcoming 3D dance film 'ABCD', Prabhu did not have to be a choreographer.

"This is not my first film as an actor. In every Indian film dance is an essential part, there are choreographers. So I did not have to hold myself in the area of choreography. When I am acting I am just acting and nothing else," he said.

'ABCD - Anybody Can Dance' stars Prabhu and Ganesh Acharya in key roles, while some contestants of reality show 'Dance India Dance' also essay central characters.

The film will release on February 8.

Aamir taking the route of having content in films: Kay Kay

Image
Versatile actor Kay Kay Menon, who will be next seen in Remo D'Souza's 'ABCD - Any Body Can
Dance' is full of praise for megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who he feels has been largely instrumental in bringing content to Hindi cinema.

Menon got a chance to share screen space with Big B in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar', where he played his son.

"I believe the era of Amitabh Bachchan is not going to come back. He is the last star that we have. He is someone who did not require marketing to promote himself, it was his work that spoke for him," Menon told PTI in an interview here.

"It was only his one poster that had the film running for 25 weeks. That is what I would call stardom and the charisma he has. I don't think anyone can be like him," he said.

Working with Bachchan was a memorable experience for Menon. "I cherish the way he works. I got to learn so much from him," the 45-year-old said.

As for Aamir, Menon may not have worked with him, but he is in awe of him for the way he churns out his films.

"I admire the way Aamir is involved with his films; one can see the difference in screenplay. I think as an actor Aamir has made a difference to cinema. He is not like those self-proclaimed stars that don't have talent but market themselves in a good way," he said.

"Aamir is taking the route of having content in cinema. It's a good thing and I really like the way he does it."

The offbeat actor however, played safe while talking about the other two powerful Khans - Shah Rukh and Salman in the industry.

"They are doing well and are successful. I hope they would try and protect some cinema in their films. I think big stars today are in a position to revive content in films, revive cinema and they should do it," he felt.

Bollywood is ruled by stars, but Menon is happy being an actor.

"I think being a star has nothing to do with acting. It's all about marketing today. I am happy being an actor," he said.

Asked if he plans to produce films, Menon says, "No there are no plans of producing films. I believe in specialising. And I am a specialised actor. If someday I get bored of it I would think of doing something else."

Menon will be seen next in Remo D'Souza's 'ABCD - Any Body Can Dance'. The 3D dance film stars Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya and contestants from reality show 'Dance India Dance'.

The film is set to release on February 8.

Madhuri Dixit does not believe in competition

Image
All set to stage a come back in Bollywood with 'Dedh Ishqiya' and 'Gulab Gang', Madhuri Dixit
does not believe she has competition on hand with actresses like Karisma Kapoor and Sridevi returning to films after taking long breaks.

Almost after a gap of 15 years, Sridevi made a comeback with 'English Vinglish', which won her accolades while Karisma returned with Vikram Bhatt's 'Dangerous Ishq' last year.

Ask Madhuri if she considers anyone as her competitor in the industry, she says, "I don't know... I have never believed in that. I do what I like and I enjoy doing what I do. All I can say is I do have strong roles in the films that I am doing - 'Gulab Gang' and 'Dedh Ishqiya'. Both the films
have nice characters."

'Gulab Gang' is a story of a gang of women fighting against social injustice. The film, directed by Soumik Sen, also stars Juhi Chawla, Mahie Gill, Shilpa Shukla and others.

"I have met Juhi. She is a very sweet person. It has been wonderful experience to work with her," Madhuri said.

Madhuri has also signed the sequel of Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Ishqiya', titled 'Dedh Ishqiya'.

Abhishek Chaubey had directed 'Ishqiya', which got great reviews and box office collections. The film was produced by Bharawaj. Even for the sequel the director, producer and lead actors Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi have been retained.

"It is an honour to work with him (Naseeruddin), he is a great actor. 'Dedh Ishqiya' will begin from mid-February," Madhuri said.

Post her marriage, Madhuri had relocated to the US for almost a decade. It was in October 2011 that she shifted her base back to Mumbai, alongwith her family.

Now that she is back in the film world, Madhuri not only has movies but endorsements also, and she handles it all perfectly.

"I think I am a multi-tasker. I can do two-three things at a time. I am strict to myself and even my kids. I take responsibility of my health," she said.

Madhuri was present at the Government dental college in south Mumbai today for an event.

"Dental hygiene is very important; people don't take it seriously. Everyone can have a smile like me. And everyone can smile confidently. Your personality looks different," she said, adding that she liked Madhubala's smile the most.

Rani Mukherjee, Randeep Hooda team up for KJo's short film

Image
Actress Rani Mukherjee will be sharing screen space with Randeep Hooda for the first time in
a Karan Johar movie titled 'Bombay Talkies'.

'Bombay Talkies' is a landmark feature film of this year releasing on the centenary date of May 3, 2013, when the industry completes 100 years of cinema.

It is an ode to cinema by four prolific film makers - Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar.

"Yes, I am doing a short film with Karan Johar and it features Rani Mukherjee," Randeep told PTI without divulging any details about the project and his role.

The film will also star 'Mujhse Fraandship Karoge' actor Saqib Siddique.

Randeep has been much in demand after his performance in 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai', 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster', 'Jannat 2' and 'Heroine' among others.

Rani, whose latest release was 'Talaash' had teamed up with Johar in 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' way back in 2006.

'Nautanki Saala' salutes Khans

Image
Mumbai: Director Rohan Sippy has revealed that his upcoming comedy film 'Nautanki Saala' would salute the three reigning Khans of Bollywood - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir - by depicting some of their distinct styles.
'Nautanki Saala' stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur of 'Delhi Belly' fame in the lead.

As the title suggests, the film is a comedy of errors between two theatre actors - Ayushmann and Kunaal.

Launching the trailer of the film, Ayushmann revealed that he has imitated Shah Rukh in the film, mouthing dialogues with the name of his films like 'Darr' and 'Devdas' in SRK's style.
"To imitate a person means he is successful so people are imitating him. I think it's the best compliment," Ayushmann said.

Revealing further details, Rohan said, "In the film, you will get to see certain styles of Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. We respect them. It is our way of saluting our favourite actors."
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has also sung two songs in the film.

"It is a fun film with no hidden meanings. It has drama and is about theatre actors," the actor said.

"In theatre, acting needs to be larger than life, while in films it is subtle. Since I come from theatre background I had to unlearn lot of things," he further added.

From being a contestant on a reality show to being a VJ and host, Ayushmann entered Bollywood with 'Vicky Donor', which garnered good response at the box office.

Talking about his journey in films, the actor said, “Everyone struggles while doing theatre. I feel if you enjoy the journey then the struggle is not longer.”

"I think the pressure is less as I am doing my second film with Ramesh Sippy. So I am not facing any pressure as he made this huge superhit film 'Sholay'. There was pressure as to what I would sign next after 'Vicky Donor',” said Ayushmann.

The film will also see actor Abhishek Bachchan doing a cameo in the film for his friend, director Rohan Sippy.

It is expected to hit theatres on April 12.

Aamir ‘P.K.’ wears skirt

Image

New Delhi: We know when perfectionist Aamir Khan works on a film his new look and style becomes a trend among the masses. That’s what we expected when news of his shooting for Rajkumar Hirani's 'P.K.' in Rajasthan came about.

But, shock overcame us when we saw a usually dapper Aamir Khan in an unusual and weird getup. Aamir was seen wearing a formal blazer teamed with a yellow skirt (somewhat like a ghagra), and was carrying a transistor with him. The photographs were taken on the sets of Hirani's upcoming film, which left us wondering what this unusual look is all about and what character is the actor playing in the film.

Yes, the actor looks funny in this outfit, but one thing is absolutely clear, the first look of the film has definitely raised the curiosity levels of his fans. A few days back, there were reports that Aamir's wife Kiran Rao and his son Azad are also in Rajasthan to keep him company. "Aamir has a 45-day shooting schedule lined up in Rajasthan and he couldn't afford to spend that long a time apart from his family. So he decided to take them along with him," said a source.

'P.K.' is an upcoming political satire directed by Hirani and also stars Anushka Sharma in the lead role. Actor Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in a small but important role. He will be playing a Rajasthani in the film. The role was initially offered to actor Arshad Warsi who had to opt out due to date issues.
