Shahid Kapoor returns with Kaminey 2

Vishal Bharadwaj was very keen on casting Imran Khan as the lead actor in Kaminey 2, as he thought Imran was a crowd puller. However, after his last disastrous flick Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mondala, Vishal changed his mind. Now, the director is ready to retain the original actor Shahid Kapoor in the sequel of the film.

The filmmaker was asked to confirm the hero of the film ‘Kaminey 2′, to which he said,“Certainly, certainly it will be Shahid Kapoor.”

During the promotions of ‘Matru Ki Bijli ka Mandola’, buzz were doing rounds that Imran Khan was confirmed as the main lead in Kaminey 2.

Imran Khan said, “If the story is good, I would really love to do it. I have seriously enjoyed working with Vishal in his movies. I would love to do another film with him, having said that, I would like to be honest and tell you that we haven’t really spoken about working together in ‘Kaminey 2′. If he would like to work with me, I am happy to work with him.”

However, Vishal rubbished all such rumors saying Imran Khan was never considered for the role and that Shahid was always on his mind to play the lead.

“It is not true at all that Imran was considered. Like most rumours, this one is also not true,” says Vishal.

Kaminey was a super hit and so, Shahid does have a genuine claim to do the sequel as well.

When Ranbir Kapoor was attacked

Ranbir Kapoor is back again with ‘Beshram’ to entertain the audiences like he did in Barfi!, last year. The shooting of the flick has already begun, with its first schedule in Chandigarh. the actor was recently caught in his character on the sets and he looked extremely funny.

In the still, we see Ranbir Kapoor properly dressed in a black suit, but his face is covered with white paint. This funny looks goes well with the film’s tagline, “Na Samman Ka Moh, Na Apmaan Ka Bhay”.

Besharam is Abhinav Kashyap’s second film after Dabangg, and will see Pallavi Sharda play the female lead. The film also features Ranbir’s parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh in pivotal roles.

Says a source, “In Abhinav Kashyap’s film, the three actors will share screen space. His real-life parents play cops who nab Ranbir who grows up to become a thief.”

It is heard that the Kapoor family is super excited to be shooting together.“Ranbir, Rishi and Neetu will get to spend some quality time on the sets away from home. Unlike Neetu, Ranbir and Rishi hardly spend time at home as they are always busy with their work commitments. Neetu and Ranbir are especially close and it couldn’t get any better,” adds the source.

Buzz also has it that Ranbir Kapoor will get to show off his abs in the film and that he will sport a macho look.

Alia Bhatt wishes to act in a horror movie

Bollywood baby Alia Bhatt made her debut with a youth-oriented film titled Student Of The Year. Now, looks like baby Alia has grown up. The newbie is very keen on featuring in a horror flick. In fact, the actress herself said that she would love to be a part of the Murder or Raaz franchise in future.

The 19-years-old spoke at the screening of Murder 3. She said,“In these thrillers and scary movies, it is very difficult to portray (the role), to always look scared… and you know, (be) in that tense zone. So, I would love to do a film (like that). If ‘Murder 4′ or ‘Raaz 4′ happen, I would love to do it.”

Directed by Alia’s cousin, Vishesh Bhatt and produced by her father, Mahesh Bhatt, Murder 3 stars Aditi RaoHydari, Randeep Hooda and Sara Loren in the lead roles. Vishesh Bhatt debuted as the director of the film, which hit theaters on Feb 15.

Alia Bhatt is very proud of her cousin. She said, “I saw it with the audience and I loved it. I think the ‘Murder’ franchise has gone a step ahead with this film. I feel very proud as a sister. Vishesh has taken such a beautiful story and made it so interesting and gripping.”

Meanwhile, Alia has started shooting for “2 States” opposite Arjun Kapoor.

John Abraham feels, the rich should help the needy more

John Abraham believes that today’s youth, if they want, can play a big role in helping the needy. He also feels that the big corporates should take initiative to support the poor and the needy. The actor himself is a part of an NGO run by Rahul Bose.

“I say the youth should contribute. Contribution is when each one of us are willing to give what is ours, without worrying about how much the other has. If we are all willing to do that, we will have equality,” the 40-year-old said.

John was at a press conference organised by actor-philanthropist Rahul Bose. The duo recently announced a concert to raise money for Rahul’s ‘The Foundation’. The organization works the upliftment of underprivileged children.

John has given away most of his clothes and other items to the organization. The actor loves to live a simple life.

“I have given my clothes away. Anyway I wear very little clothes,” he quipped, adding: “I have two to three pairs of jeans, four to five shirts which you will see are repeated in press conferences and some 20 t-shirts. You can instantly recognise them!”

“I really believe that leading a simple lifestyle helps and I am sure you all can also do the same. It is no use having many expensive things – you just collect and horde and then throw out,” he added.

Ranveer makes me feel special, says Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone just cant stop gushing about her Ram Leela co-star, Ranveer Singh. According to the actress, Ranveer is very unique and a wonderful person to be with.

In an interview to Filmfare, Deepika said, “He’s a wonderful person. He has the ability to walk into a room and make you feel like you’re the most important person in the world. And it’s not just with people he knows. He could be meeting someone for the first time and make him feel like they’re best friends. That’s God given. That’s why he gets so much love. We’re in a similar space in terms of our age, where we’re coming from in our lives. There’s a lot of similarity between us, he doesn’t come from a film background. He’s also relatively new to the industry. We have a great time together. He makes me laugh a lot. He makes me feel special. That’s it. If I’m in a relationship, I’ll talk about it.”

So are Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone dating?

Deepika says, “I’m single. I’m not in the frame of mind to be in a relationship. I get too involved when I’m in a relationship. I don’t know whether it’s a problem or a good thing. But I don’t know how to be with someone and not be attached. I’m in a phase in my career where I feel I may not be able to do justice to both – my relationship and my career. My career is going well. I don’t want anything to take away from that.”

Saif Ali Khan will make himself look cool in Bullet Raja

Saif Ali Khan is wholly focusing on getting the right kind of look for his upcoming flick Bullet Raja, which is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Saif’s character in the film will see him wearing shabby and nasty clothes. However, the actor says, he will still try him best to look super cool.

“I think it is one of the most fun things when you do a role, try and find the look for the character. So ‘Bullet Raja’ is kind of like this (points to stubble) but a little, sort of wears pretty big and nasty clothes but hopefully we’ll make it look kind of cool. That’s the idea, nylon shirts and white pants and white shoes,” the 42-year-old said.

Saif is aware of the fact that forming a negative image of himself on-screen can hamper his future prospects in the film industry, nevertheless, it is still very important.

“I don’t know how important is it for an actor to have an image because an image can sometimes stereotype you. I think the less you know about an actor, the better. An actor should just actually have an image of being a good actor,” Saif said.

“But there are many other aspects to an actor’s income, like magazine covers, forming some kind of, you being a brand ambassador and people investing in you. But as an actor I don’t think it’s very important,” he added.

Aamir Khan nicknamed Rani Mukerji as ‘engine’

Aamir Khan has nicknamed his Ghulam co-star, Rani Mukerji as engine. It was Rani Mukerji who revealed this secret on the UTV Stars’ Yeh Hai Meri Kahaani.

It had all started on the sets of the movie Gulham, in 1998, where Rani was required to film a hugging scene with Aamir. Even after 3 attempts, they were not able to get the scene right and as a result Aamir decided that Rani must be called ‘engine’. While on the show, Rani Mukerji aslso shared her professional journey. She had apparently wanted to become a fashion designer but ended up as an actress. The episode featuring Rani will be on air on Saturday.

The duo also appeared in Talaash. Where Aamir Khan plays the role of a cop investigating the murder of a famous movie star and Rani Mukerji portrays the character of Aamir’s wife.

Catch the de-glam Priyanka Chopra in Gunday

Priyanka Chopra has gone de-glam for her upcoming movie ‘Gunday’. Ms Chopra was clicked atop a crowded truck laden with livestock.

Dressed in a sari, PC was donning a desi avatar complete with long tresses. The film, helmed by filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, is expected to release later this year.

It is learnt that, the scene comes in the film when the hero takes his ladylove for a ride in the verdant countryside, but his jeep breaks down and she hops on a passing truck instead. Priyanka Chopra was in her character and looked cross with Arjun Kapoor who kept on staring at her without blinking his eyes.

Gunday is a romantic flick starring Arjun Kapoor and Ranvir Singh, who will be playing small time thieves in the movie. The film will hit theaters by the end of 2013.

Meanwhile, PeeCee is all set to take acting to the next level with with Mary Kom’s biopic. The actress is working hard to achieve a boxer’s body in her latest role as boxing champion Mary Kom. According to sources, Priyanka is working very hard to develop abdominal muscles to portray Mary to the hilt.

Speaking at a press conference, Priyanka said, “I do at least one film which is challenging for me every year. Mary Kom is that film for next year. If you meet her in person, you will see she is so sweet…can’t imagine her to be a boxer.”

Mahie takes to booze, fags; dad for rehab

New Delhi: Actress Mahie Gill who made a mark in Bollywood by playing bold characters, seems to have landed herself in trouble. The beautiful actress who is shown smoking and drinking in the first installment of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster in 2011, and will be doing the same in the sequel of the film,Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, has supposedly taken to the habits herself. This has apparently left Mahie's father angry, who has given her strict instructions to quit the habit as soon as possible or go to rehab.

A source close to the actress reveals that her father is extremely furious and wants her to stop it immediately. “Her father has asked her to go to rehab. He is extremely angry and has made it very clear to her that she needs to end it all,” the source says.

The source further adds, “Mahie was a complete teetotaler. In SBAG, she was shown smoking and drinking extensively. She’s doing the same in the sequel, Saheb Biwi Aur Ganster Returns, in which she was shown drinking a peg of vodka every day. And due to this, she actually started drinking and smoking — something that has not gone down too well with her parents.”

What’s Bips doing in Sallu's room?

New Delhi: Bipasha is heartbroken, while Salman is looking for true love, so can anything happen between the two? If eyewitnesses are to be believed, then Bips who was in Hyderabad recently to add glamour to the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) matches, was often spotted spending quality time in Salman's room. Apparently, the actress decided to stay in the same hotel where Dabangg Khan was staying.

Reports also say that Bips wasn't present at the stadium on Sunday night to cheer Sohail Khan's team Mumbai Heroes, but the actress was spotted entering Salman's room later in the evening.

According to rumour mill, Bips and Salman were together for an hour almost, after which the actress left for her room.

Now, this news has set tongues wagging that something is cooking between the two Bollywood stars.

On Sunday night, in a bizarre incident, Sallu's car was followed by about 20 bikers, all the way from Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium to his hotel. Salman had gone to the city to watch a CCL match between his brother Sohail Khan's Mumbai Heroes and the Telugu Warriors.

According to an eyewitness, after the match got over around 11 pm, Salman walked to his car, parked right outside the stadium's gate. To facilitate his exit, traffic was blocked and fans who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor were pushed aside. Some even started following Salman's car, forcing the police to lathi-charge them.

A source said, "Salman was very upset with the way people behaved. He was concerned that there could have been an accident."

PC, who agreed for the item song after almost 6 months of chasing by the director, will definitely not be happy to hear this news.

The director of the film says, “I chased Priyanka for six months before she agreed to do this song. It will be shot in the next 3-4 days in Mumbai”.

B-wood running out of ideas, says Ali Zafar

Mumbai: Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar, who will be seen in the remake version of Chashme Baddoor, says that remakes are made to earn profit when at times Bollywood runs out of original ideas.

 

 

However, the 32-year-old actor also acknowledged that films based on innovative subjects too are being made in the tinsel town.

 

 

"To some extent it is true that the industry is running out of original ideas. But the commercial model of film-making is to revamp a story, keeping in mind today's times and present it in a different way. Cinema is a business. The aim is to make profit," Zafar said in an interview.

 

 

Zafar, who has acted in television dramas in Pakistan, also pointed out that the commercial viewpoint and original ideas go hand in hand in Bollywood.

 

 

"But there are original films also getting made like Tere Bin Laden, English Vinglish, Vicky Donor.  Both the things exist. There are times when industry people are running out of ideas and while there are others who are trying out newer subjects," he said.

 

 

Directed by David Dhawan, Chashme Buddoor is the remake of 1981 hit romcom by the same name.

Anti-Kela Awards for GOW, Vicky Donor

New Delhi: Gangs of Wasseypur, Vicky Donor, Kahaani and Paan Singh Tomar will be given a special trophy for being 'the saving graces of Bollywood in 2012' at the annual Golden Kela awards which recognises the best of the worst in Hindi cinema.

 

 

"It gives us immense pleasure as we will be giving Anti Kela trophies to these 4 films for their exemplary script, teamwork and performances and for having us believe that good cinema can and will not just earn the brownie points of critics but can also do great at the box office," said Jatin Varma, Founder, Golden Kela Awards.

 

 

The annual awards, modelled on Razzies, have some of the biggest names from Bollywood in their worst categories.

 

 

Superstars Shah Rukh and Salman Khan's much hyped films Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dabangg 2 are competing for the worst film trophy at the awards along with Housefull 2, Son Of Sardar, Khiladi 786and Joker.

 

 

In the worst actor (male) category, Akshay Kumar comes on top with his four releases-- Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Joker and Khiladi 786, Ajay Devgn is part of the list for his two films Son Of Sardar and Bol Bachchan, Imran Khan for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Sanjay Dutt for his villainous turn inAgneepath and Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan for their debut Student Of The Year.

RGV, KJo smoke peace pipe

Mumbai: Foe turned friends? Latest buzz in tinsel town is that filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has extended a hand of friendship towards Karan Johar. RGV has invited KJo to watch his upcoming movie The Attacks of 26/11.

 

 

If reports are to be believed, very soon RGV will arrange a special screening for Karan as well.

 

 

"Karan Johar is one of the prominent filmmakers in the industry. Besides, he is also a good friend and I know him very well. This film has been a satisfying experience for me after a long time. So, I wanted to show it to some of my friends," said Varma.

 

 

In the past, both the filmmakers have had a series of heated war of words with each other on Twitter. It has come as a surprise that RGV has used the same platform to invite Karan for the movie, which is based on the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

 

 

"Hey Karan I never ever invited you to see any of my films, but The Attacks of 26/11 is one film I would really like you to see," Varma wrote to Karan on Twitter.

 

 

Varma says he should be holding the screening this weekend.

Nawaz doesn't want to be next Irrfan

New Delhi: No senior would like to be compared to his junior. Rumour has that similar issue seems to be the reason why Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan can't stand Nawazuuddin Siddiqui, the so called "new" talent in B-Town.If reports are to be believed than Irrfan doesn't like the constant comparisons made between him and Nawaz.

 

 

"Nawazuddin is touted as the next Irrfan and neither of them is pleased with it," says a source.When Irrfan was contacted, he denied the alleged tiff saying, "It's not true at all. I just did a film with him called The Lunchbox. If he is touted as the next Irrfan, why would I have an issue with it? You should ask him as to how he is receiving it!"

 

 

According to Nawazuddin, "Irrfan is my senior. He has his own style of working. Comparing us would be underestimating our talent! No actor wants to be touted as the next so-and-so as you want to carve your niche and create your own identity. Just because I entered the industry later doesn't mean I have to be compared to him. We have a cordial relationship. I idolise actors like Dilip Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah, but I wouldn't want to be compared to them either. I don't want to be the next Irrfan."
